Help Scout Desk by Sprout Apps is a really great way to accept support tickets on your WordPress site through Help Scout, and then allow users to respond through your site. In this post, I’ll be reviewing the plugin and exploring some of its main features.
As described on the Sprout Apps site, “Help Scout Desk will add the ability for your customers to create new support tickets and reply to existing tickets without being forced to use email”. Basically, when a Help Scout ticket is normally submitted, the user replies via email, and the support agents reply using the online interface – however, with this plugin, customers reply and submit new tickets online. Personally, I think the standard method is an advantage – learn more here.
So, back to the Help Scout Desk plugin! I felt it was really simple to get started and integrate your account via the API with your WordPress site. Also, the integration with Easy Digital Downloads allows you to view customer information within the Help Scout conversation, which is a really useful feature.
Sprout Apps promise a full year of updates and support for the plugin, and licenses are available for either single sites, or an unlimited number of sites. The plugin is not cheap, however, from what I’ve seen, promises to be a really great addition to many support systems.
